Health and Wellbeing Coaching Session

Health and wellbeing coaching focuses on helping individuals gain the knowledge, skills, tools and confidence to reach their self-identified health goals. Health coaching promotes a client-centred partnership that is health-focused and occurs through a process of empowerment.


Health and wellbeing coaching is different to traditional medical approaches in that it does not take a prescriptive approach. The coach will not tell the coachee what to do in terms of their health, it is up to the coachee to define their health goals. The coach will be there to support and empower the coachee on their health and wellbeing journey. Health coaching can help individuals in a number of ways by building confidence, setting achievable goals, the use of relaxation and imagery techniques  and addressing and overcoming negative thought patterns and behaviours that might be getting in the way of change.


Individuals come to health and wellbeing with a number of issues they would like help and support with, such as:


  • Managing chronic conditions

  • Achieving health goals such as quitting smoking, losing weight or making dietary changes

  • Achieving a more balanced lifestyle in terms of work/life/family integration

  • Reduction of stress

  • Making decisions regarding their health

  • Managing medication regimes
